the conical body with gently rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot, the interior freely carved with stylized leafy scrolls encircling the central roundel, covered with a lustrous translucent bluish-white glaze stopping unevenly above the unglazed foot, Japanese wood box (2)
Condition
Having scattered firing imperfections throughout including burst glaze bubbles. With light wear and several minor scratches, the longest of which is 1.5 cm. The foot ring with an old chip measuring approximately 1.3 cm wide. Old ink marking to the unglazed clay underside of the foot.
