Description

  • Porcelain
each painted to the interior in black and iron-red with a medallion enclosing Venus bathing, encircled in the well by an iron-red and gilt spearhead band and a floral swag at the rim heightened in gilt

Condition

One plate has a 1 and 4mm., shallow rim flake to the underside and rubbing with associated loss of the enamels and gilded decoration to the edge of the medallion, the other has similar rubbing to the medallion and two 1mm., wide rim chips.
