Description

the rectangular body with canted corners, brightly enamelled and gilt to either side with scrolling leaves and flower sprays divided by hare-head handles, the stand and cover similarly decorated, the domed cover surmounted by a leafy finial

Condition

The tureen and cover are in good condition with the exception of a small chip to the inside edge of the footring and minor fritting and kiln grit adhering to the edge of the foot; the stand has two areas of restoration to the rim and circa 10 and 12cm., wide over-spray to the underside of the rim.
