the gently curving sides rising from a short foot, painted around the exterior with mythical horses and qilin, the base with an underglaze-blue six-character mark; together with a blue and white 'lotus' dish, the interior painted with a central lotus bloom amongst scrolling foliage, the exterior painted with continuous scrolling lotus, the base with an underglaze-blue six character Jiajing mark

Condition

Bowl: This has one 7cm crack running from the base and another of 1.5cm. There is a 1.4cm by 3mm shallow crack to the interior of the footrim, and scratches to the glaze to the interior and exterior. Dish: There is a 2.7cm crack running from the rim and an associated chip 3mm by 3mm. There are some scratches to the glaze to the interior.
