carved in openwork with two monkeys playfully confronting one another, each with one hand clutching a section of the peach branch and one monkey scratching its right ear with the other hand, their faces detailed with a wrinkled forehead and a gentle expression, the stone of a celadon tone with some russet inclusions
Condition
There is a chip on the leg of one monkey, and a few nicks to the edge of the branch and minor nicks to the extremities. The colour of the carving is more green compared with the catalogue illustration.
