Description
- Aloe wood
the ruyi-shaped terminal carved with carved with Shoulao seated holding a peach, the curved shaft with the seven other Immortals amongst pine, bamboo and clouds and with the four-character inscription yi pin dang chao (to be the highest court official)
Provenance
Collection of Fei Cheng Wu (1914-2001).
Condition
The sceptre is in good condition with the exception of two restored breaks to the shaft, one across the upper section and one across the lower section, and restoration to a circa 1cm., area at the bottom edge of the shaft.
