Description

  • mother of pearl, lacquer
each with canted corners and mounted metal rims, finely inlaid with abalone shell, two depicting warriors on horseback with lances, another with two scholars on horseback conversing with standing figures beside a river and the other with a figure leaning on a window sill and dreaming and inscribed to the reverse with the inscription Haofu yin feng qu Liqing ru meng lai (Good poetic inspiration disappears with the wind, the mood of farewell enters the dream)

Condition

All these dishes have some cracks to the lacquer to the interior and exterior. The one with the figure dreaming has more extensive cracking to the interior than the others. The one dish with a figure on horseback has a 1.2cm crack running through one corner.
