Description

  • Abelone shell
of hexagonal section, the upper surface of the cover depicting an elderly scholar with two assistance beneath a pine tree in a fenced garden beside a river, the sides with alternating diaper and geometric panels

Condition

This box and cover is in good general condition, but has minor damage as follows: there is a 5mm by 1mm chip to the top edge to one side and a small 2mm by 2 mm chip to the interior rim of the lowest tier, there is a 4mm by 1mm chip to the interior rim and a 2mm by 1mm chip to the underside of the second tier, there is a two 2mm by 1mm chips to the interior rim of the first tier and a 1.7cm by 4mm area of repair to the lacquer and two small chips (2mm by 1mm) to the interior rim of the cover.
