the substantial grey jade mottled with dark speckles and highlighted with light russet skin, skilfully worked as an oval vessel with sloping sides rising to a broad shoulder and an incurved rim, the exterior decorated in varying levels of relief with three ferocious dragons soaring amidst dense clusters of lingzhi-shaped clouds, two mythical beasts rendered confronting each other and flanking a 'flaming pearl', the base exquisitely worked as thin curling lappets of tempestuous waves radiating from a swirling centre, two jagged outcrops rendered emerging from the turbulent waves, wood stand

Condition
The brushwasher is in overall good condition except some minute bruises and shallow nicks to the carving, the most severe measuring approx. 1.1 cm to the body of the left dragon. There is also a minor chip measuring approx. 0.5 cm to the tip of a wave swirl on the base.
