of rectangular form, worked on one side in low relief with two scholars standing on a craggy cliff, the scene centred with a whirlpool surrounded by further jagged rockwork and talle pine trees, all beneath lingzhi-shaped cloud swirls bordering the upper edge of the panel, the reverse incised with a poem within two key-fret and scrollwork bands bordering the edge, the stone of a warm variegated spinach-green jade colour with dark green inclusions, wood stand

Condition

The panel is in overall good condition. There are occasional small nicks and bruises along the edges and the fragile extremities of the carving, as can be expected, the most severe measuring approx. 0.6 cm to the edge of the inscribed side.
