The terre de faïence set, comprising one dish and 12 plates, 1948, from the edition of 100, each plate titled, Plates A, I, K inscribed 'Madoura', 'D'Après Picasso' and 'DR', Plates E, L inscribed 'DR', Plate G inscribed 'Madoura' and 'DR', the dish and Plate F inscribed 'Edition Picasso', glazed and painted, each with the Madoura stamp, Plates B-D, H, J also stamped Edition Picasso, Plate E-F, L also stamped d'Après Picasso

Condition

Overall the ceramics are generally in good condition. Imperfections in the individual pieces are: Dish (A.R. 35) - a minute chip in the rim at the reverse (at 7 o'clock), two minute blue accretions at the rim at top (all only visible upon close inspection) Plate A (A.R. 36): a few nicks in the glaze, a very small chip at the rim reverse (at 9 o'clock) Plate B (A.R. 37): a few nicks in the glaze, a tiny superficial chip in the glaze at the rim, the rim at the reverse has areas where the glaze has rubbed away and some minute chips Plate C (A.R. 38): infrequent nicks in the glaze, a small superficial chip in the glaze at the rim has been painted in black (at 3 o'clock), a small adhesive remain on the reverse Plate D (A.R. 39): infrequent nicks in the glaze, two minute superficial chips at the rim reverse, a third inside from the rim, an adhesive remain on the reverse Plate E (A.R. 40): two places with stray white pigment at the rim on the reverse (inherent to the production?) Plate F (A.R. 41): a very small chip at the rim reverse has been painted in black, two further tiny nicks at the rim reverse are visible upon close inspection Plate G (A.R. 42): traces of adhesive remains towards the rim (at 5 o'clock) Plate H (A.R. 43): a small chip at the rim on the reverse has been painted in black (measuring 4mm at widest), occasional other minute chips at the reverse rim are visible upon close inspection Plate I (A.R. 44): occasional nicks in the glaze and two further surface defects below the orange spots, trace remains of clear tape near the green spot (at 6 o'clock) Plate J (A.R. 45): an infrequent nick in the glaze, five superficial chips at the rim have been painted in black (visible upon close inspection), further minute chips along the rim at the reverse Plate K (A.R. 46): numerous minute nicks in the glaze, a chip at the rim has been painted in black (measuring 2cm at widest) Plate L (A.R. 47): infrequent surface defects at the rim and the foot at the reverse
