Catalogue Note

The portrait of Charles Rigg is most likely by Richard Dalee, inscribed in pencil on the back: Oct. 2nd '93. Picture of the writer of this, now past 61 years of age.  This is supposed to --- a good one.  At the time it was taken.  Taken from life by a Traveling Artist.  It was the photograph of the day.  CHR.
