Catalogue Note

"An excellent Bard in subject and condition. She ran for the Catskill & Athens S. B. Co. From Athens, trains would speed to the many hotels beyond.  Perhaps a stay at the mammoth Hotel Kaaterskill (sic), opened in 1881, the “largest mountain hotel in the world,” with its grand views.  Inexplicably, there is no one aboard. Bard must certainly have willed it so, but why?"
