Condition

traces of glue between bust and enamel pedestal, detached from column. Good condition overall.

Catalogue Note

Lucy Pycke de Peteghem was the daughter of Baron Amedé Pycke de Peteghem (1824-1898), a Belgian diplomat. He was Extraordinary Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary in Rome between 1867 and 1874. Lucy later married the marquis Guerrieri Gonzaga. Some jewels from this old Italian aristocratic family were sold recently, see Il Ponte, Casa d'Aste, Milan, 24 May 2016, including lots 367, 368 and 418 which belonged to Lucy herself.
