  • 6.5cm., 2 5/8 in. wide
shaped rectangular form, decorated overall with wavy reeded diaper, prestige marks including maker's mark PT, date letter for 1742 and discharge of Louis Robin

Condition

96.5gr.some wear to corners, especially the front left corner with minute pin head hole. overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

The maker's mark PT a mitre for device was identified as a 19th century mark by Charles Truman when he published the catalogue of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection. Mr Truman also lists two other boxes with the same maker's mark, one in the Wallace Collection, with marks for Paris, 1745-1747, the other in the Victoria and Albert Museum, with marks for Paris, 1746-1747.
