Description

  • porcelain
  • 10.3cm., 4in. high
modelled as a slender bottle around which curve a stork and fox, their feathers and fur delicately painted in purple and red respectively, the fox licking the side of the bottle, upon a scrollwork pedestal base picked out in gilding applied with small flowers, the stopper formed as a small bird in plumage, 

Provenance

Anon. sale, Sotheby's London, 29th June 1965, lot 103, acquired at the sale by Winifred Williams.

Condition

One small flower chipped and the bird's tail feather's with a chip. The rim of the bottle with three short faint hairline cracks. Some scattered rubbing to enamels consistent with handling.
