Description
- Porcelain
- 8.8cm., 3 1/2 in. high
vibrantly painted Harlequin modelled standing bending around a central trunk applied with grapevines, offering a cut melon to a reclining Columbine who holds a goblet and bottle filled with wine, the stopper formed as a small bird in foliage,

Condition
There is some old restoration to the rim of the bottle and some small chips to the applied leaves.

Kate Foster, op. cit., lists this model as 'Harlequin offering a melon to Columbine' in the second category and illustrates another example no. 27, pl. 213(d). A second example also in the Blohm collection, was sold in these rooms 4th July 1960, lot 2. The lead master model for this scent bottle is illustrated by Bryant, op. cit., pl. 30. fig. 6.
