modelled by Georg Ludwig Bartolome, standing wearing puce breeches and a jacket delicately painted with flower garlands, beside a kennel with a small cat at his feet and a hound eating from a bowl, upon a small mound base applied with small leaves, cross mark in underglaze-blue,
Condition
There are two restored chips to the roof of the dog kennel. Both index fingers lacking with a small area of old restoration at break points. The head has been re-stuck at the neck and the brim of the hat is chipped with an area of associated restoration. Typical small chips to applied leaves on base.

Catalogue Note
An example from the Goldblatt Collection was sold by Sotheby's London in May 1956, lot 184 and subsequently entered the Meinertzhagen Collection and was sold at Christie’s London, 3rd March 1986, lot 42. Another together with the companion model of a young girl feeding chickens is illustrated, Ernst Kramer, Fuldaer Porzellan in hessischen Sammlungen, Melsungen, 1978, abb. 10, where the author also illustrates the version produced at Höchst.
