Description

  • 29.2cm., 11 1/2 in. high
hemispherical with oak shell embellished gadrooned rims, lobed and stylised anthemion and tulip bands, serpent handles/junctions, comprising; a George IV teapot, with ivory handle and finial, 17.6cm., 7in. high; a William IV milk jug and sugar bowl, William Bateman, London, 1837; and a silver coffee biggin on stand, Charles Stuart Harris, London, 1927, ivory handle, detachable burner, engraved with a coat-of-arms below a Baron's coronet

Condition

The matched coffee biggin is of similar heavy gauge to the three other pieces. Cover fits a little loose and does not close completely flush. The ivory handle with a few minor striations/hairline cracks. The ivory to the teapot with more and darker striations/hairlines as typical in age difference between the two. The ivory finial missing small insulator between disc and body, therefore loose to cover. Two small lead solder repairs at each end of exterior hinge. Light bruising to waisted section of rim. The sugar and cream with some small pin-head size dents to the bodies, typical light surface wear for age. Good condition overall.
