  • 23.5cm., 9 1/4 in. and 24cm., 9 1/2 in. across mounts
modelled by J. J. Kändler, as a male and female figure, each holding a paddle and reclining on an urn issuing water, upon scroll-edged rockwork bases applied with flowers and bulrushes, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue to edge of bases, each with inventory mark H in Indian ink, upon pierced scrollwork mounts,

Condition

the male figure: A section of the base and been broken and repaired. There is restoration to his right arm, left toes and to the bulrushes and minor chips and restoration to headpiece. His right thumb and section of paddle are missing. the female figure: There is restoration to her left shoulder and elbow, the paddle and the right corner of base at rear. The bronze mounts have been re-gilt.
