By family tradition, the vase garniture was a wedding gift of Thomas Gainsborough on the occasion of the Gainsborough and Harward families;

Condition
The central flanking vase, there are three chips to the foot; the cover has two chips and a short crack;
One double gourd shaped vase has two small chips to foot, whilst the other has one chip;
One beaker vase, a section of the rim has been broken into several parts and has old repair;
Otherwise typical and scattered minor glaze flaking to extremities.
