by Lambertus van Eenhoorn, comprising an ovoid vase and cover, a pair of beaker vases and a pair of double gourd shaped vases, each painted with panels of birds flanking a vase of flowers and panels of flowers issuing from rocks inside diaper frames beneath a floral border, ovoid vase with painted LVE mark over 6 and p. 515 to base and painted LVE mark to inside of cover,

Provenance

By family tradition, the vase garniture was a wedding gift of Thomas Gainsborough on the occasion of the Gainsborough and Harward families;
Winterfold, Chaddesley Corbett;
thence by family descent to the present owner.

Condition

The central flanking vase, there are three chips to the foot; the cover has two chips and a short crack; One double gourd shaped vase has two small chips to foot, whilst the other has one chip; One beaker vase, a section of the rim has been broken into several parts and has old repair; Otherwise typical and scattered minor glaze flaking to extremities.
