the first, Lambert Muntinck, Groningen, 1650-1651, hoof finial, 15.5cm., 6 1/8 in.; the second, Jan de Booser (Groningen), circa 1690, the stem cast with bird and fruits, knopped finial, initialled K.A., 8cm., 7 1/8 in.; the third, maker’s mark struck twice, an acorn, partly twisted stem with musketeer, initialled HI, 18.5cm., 7 ¼ in long; and four examples, unmarked, various initials, two with silver-gilt acorn finial, one with partly twisted stem and flower engraving, lion finial with vacant cartouche, one with bishop finial and vacant cartouche, from 17cm., 6 ¾ in. to 19cm., 7 ½ in.
