each of moulded form with a strap to the front painted with flower sprigs reserved on a blue scale ground,
Condition
One shoe has a starcrack to one side. Both shoes with shallow rim chips and typical glaze chips.

It is believed that shoes of this type were given as a betrothal or wedding gift as a token of good luck. In contemporary English delft examples are recorded with painted initials and dates which would support this notion.
