- A jewelled gold and enamel watch in the form of a mandolin, probably Vienna, late 19th century
- gold, enamel
- 6cm., 2 3/8 in. high
the gold strings held by diamonds pegs, opening to reveal a white enamel dial with arabic numerals, the fusée and chain movement with verge escapement, plain steel balance with curved arms visible through a glazed panel to the front bordered with diamonds, the gold case numbered 1230, unmarked
Condition
Overall good condition, apart from minor enamel losses, very delicate. Enamel dial has small chip to winding hole but otherwise good. Movement is complete and looks as though it would run but would benefit from a clean and fresh oil. No winder.
