- A gold-mounted tortoiseshell and lacquer needle case, French, circa 1785
- tortoiseshell and gold
- 10 cm., 4in. long
slightly tapering form and flattened oval section, striped in gold between translucent flowers on a rose pink ground, gold ropetwist mounts
Condition
Restoration, discoloration of varnish and small losses at each end; some discolouration to varnish overall but a charming small object.
