in the form of a griffin, the hinged lid inset with red paste cabochon eyes, the tail feathers engraved with an inscription

The inscription reads: ‘URLOVASOK SZÖVETKEZETE HÖLGYEK DIJA 1891 JUNIUS. 7’ ('Association of Gentleman riders, Ladies prize 1891 June 7')
The design of this jug is based on that of a white porcelain pot made by the Imperial Vienna Porcelain factory between 1744 and 1749, an example of which is in the Victoria and Albert Museum (museum no.
