Catalogue Note
The maker's marks of Karl Bank (active 1895 to circa 1924) and Karl Bender (active 1874-1892) are very similar. It is more likely that this piece is the work of Bender, who is recorded as specialising in 'knicknacks in enamel and hardstone', than Bank, who made gold and silver jewellery.
