  • A rock crystal hippocamp cup and cover with gem-set enamelled silver mounts, Rudolf Linke, Vienna, circa 1900
  • rock crystal, enamel, silver-gilt
  • 28cm., 11in. wide
carved prancing with flared mane and raised tail on a lobed oval base, the mounts applied with coloured gemstones and pierced multi-coloured marine scrollwork, detachable head, maker's and Vienna control marks

Condition

Some applied gemstones lacking; some losses and damage to scrollwork but generally a spirited and dramatic piece.
