Description

Taylor 1970
u. 1bn, 3vts, 3ts, 1t/hs, wine comes from 2 different importers, damp soiled and slightly stained labels, 6 vintage embossed foil capsules, 3 plain chipped wax capsule, slightly corroded capsules, excellent color and clarity

Deep, almost crimson colour, astonishing for its age. A real floral/violets scent, lingering and alluring. A phenomenal contrast to the style of 1966. Cherries and liquorice on the nose too. All-enveloping, highly black liquorice taste. Great concentration and body on the palate. Alcoholic dates! Sweet/ripe maraschino cherries at the end. Tastes younger than the 1977! I see a comparison with the 1997 - a hot year and superb wine. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
