Centering an oval-shaped ruby weighing approximately 2.20 carats, framed by round diamonds, size 6½, signed V.C.A., numbered N.Y. 1906 SO; 1960s.

Condition

In good condition with some evidence of minor scratching and nicking, primarily to the shank. As per the original insurance valuation, the ruby weighs 2.20 carats and the diamonds are estimated to have a total weight of 5.95 carats. The ruby presents a medium-deep slightly purplish red color and is moderately included, with examples of surface-reaching inclusions as well as a very minor chip on one edge of the ruby, only visible under close inspection. The diamonds are approximately F-G color and predominantly VVS-VS clarity. Signed, numbered, and inscribed 'S O' on inner shank. The original insurance valuation from Van Cleef & Arpels dated February 10th, 1968 has been provided to Sotheby's, and a copy is available upon request.
