Description

  • nephrite, 18 carat gold
Comprising: a figure of a young boy within a double gourd; a pair of geese holding sprays of lingzhi fungus; an archaistic carving surmounted by a chilong dragon; an archaistic plaque centred on a bi disc; a plaque of pierced floral design; a figure of a cicada; and a plaque depicting a bat above two coins; all mounted as pendants, Italian maker's marks; and a carving of a butterfly mounted as a necklace, chain length approximately 890mm, part illustrated.

Condition

Seven pieces stamped 750 for 18 carat gold, cicada pendant with partial stamp. Three pendants with maker's mark 26 AL, four pendants with partial maker's marks. Nephrite of various shades of pale green, translucent, some with areas of white and dark inclusions, some surface-reaching. Nephrite surfaces with some visible tooling marks, natural light pitting and scratches to the surface consistent with wear. Some very minor chips to edges of carving. Metal surfaces with some areas of tarnish, and light scratches consistent with wear. Gross weight approximately 458 grams.
