The rectangular case decorated to the obverse with a pierced flora and fauna design, accented with circular-cut rubies, opening to reveal two mirrors, two powder compartments, a hair comb, lipstick holder and cigarette lighter, measuring approximately 133 x 87 x 21mm, signed Boucheron, numbered, assay and partial maker's marks, with fitted carrying case stamped Boucheron, gross weight approximately 514 grams.
Condition
Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. French assay marks for silver. Open work panel stamped 'Or Argent' for gilt silver. Signed 'Boucheron Paris'. Numbered 815012. Indistinct maker's marks. Open work panel with one tendril slightly bent. Glass in good condition. Rubies of reddish purple, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching inclusions. Very slight wear to stone surface. Powder compartment with powder residue and powder puff. Lipstick holder with light lipstick residue. Tortoiseshell comb intact. All clasps secure, and spring attachments to lighter and lipstick holder intact. Light scratches and small areas of tarnish to all metal surfaces throughout consistent with wear. Suede container stamped Boucheron. In good condition. Gross weight including suede container approximately 600 grams.
