Catalogue Note

Christofle presented this model of candelabra at the London Universal Exhibition in 1851, which is also illustrated in the 1855 Christofle catalogue, plate 45, entitled 'candelabra children wine seven lights.' A pair of candelabra of the same model was sold Sotheby's Monaco on 4 December, 1989, Lot 1104, another one Sotheby's New York, in the collection of Suzanne Saperstein, on 19 April, 2012, lot 161.

We are most grateful to Mrs Anne Gros, curator of the Christofle museum, for her precious assistance in researching this lot.
