the foliate carved padded backrest, with padded and scrolled armrests, above a carved seat rail on outward scrolled legs, upholstered in floral polychrome and blue silk

Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. There is one visible but minor crack to the left hand side and upper part of the backrest. There are woodworm traces with losses to the seatrail. The castors are later. The silk is in good overall condition. The construction is firm. Please note that the bergère is sold without the square cushion visible on the catalogue illustration. Nice carving and shape.
