Description

  • A jewelled gold and enamel bonbonnière, Hanau, circa 1795
  • hair, gold, diamonds, enamel,
  • 6.8cm., 2 5/8 in diameter
circular, the lid later inset with a panel of plaited hair, within a rose diamond frame, the sides and base enamelled in translucent sage green over pellet-strewn concentric lines within opalescent pellet and garland borders, French prestige marks including letter T crowned

Condition

Side enamel restored; hair probably replacing a miniature within some 20 years. Liner of lid with solder repairs.
