- Porcelain
vibrantly painted with studies after old master painters including Boucher, Boilly and Teniers framed within tooled gilt borders, with bands of shaded anthemion palmettes picked out in gilding and white reserved on a light coral ground, with gilt rims, comprising a pair of campana shaped vases or ice-pails, 37cm., 14 1/2 in. high; six high footed circular tazza, 12.8cm., 5in. high; two low footed octagonal footed tazza, 6.7cm., 2 5/8 in. high; and twenty-four plates, 22.5cm., 8 7/8 in. diam., titles of artists or paintings in gilding to reverses, some pieces with gilded Schoelcher / a Paris. mark
Condition
The overall condition is good for a service of this size. One octagonal tazza and a high-footed tazza have an area of restoration at the rim and a further high-footed tazza has a restored rim chip. Some of the plates have some typical minor areas of stacking wear to the central gilded bands but overall are in good condition. One plate is restored.
There is wear to the gilding on the feet of the vases and are possibly lacking covers.
Otherwise some minor surface scratching only.
