Description

comprising eleven two-handled beakers and saucers, each applied in relief with branches of flowering prunus, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, various impressed numerals, the red lacquered case of rectangular form with two gilt-metal handles at sides,
Condition
One porcelain beaker and saucer are lacking. One saucer is chipped and two beakers have a restored handle, otherwise the porcelain is in generally good condition.
The lacquer case is in reasonable conserved condition with minor re-touching to decoration. The case displays marks and scratches consistent with age and use with several flakes throughout. The top right cover of lid would benefit from attention.
Displaying signs of old woodworm which appears to be no longer active.
The two hinges missing two and one screws respectively. The inside of the lid with one hinge screw exposed. The lining worn and faded, the yellow textile edging loose in two areas.
