Description

  • overall height of kettle 36.5cm., 14 3/8 in. high
the kettle painted with two gilt-edged quatrefoil panels of figures in landscapes, reserved on a yellow ground, applied with a branch spout and bronze-mounted over-handle, with a chained cover, the three-footed stand with pierced trellis panels and applied flowers, crossed swords and dot mark in underglaze-blue to stand, together with a Meissen dot-period teapot and cover, later decorated with chinoiserie panels reserved on a yellow ground, traces of crossed swords and dot mark in underglaze-blue, 

Condition

The kettle is in good condition, though the bronze mount is slightly ill-fitting and loose. All three scroll feet of the stand have been restored as well as one scroll support on the top edge. The teapot has a restored chip to rim of the cover and restoration to flower finial and spout, there is quite a lot of surface scratching to the yellow ground and painted panels.
