Description

each painted with quatrefoil gilt-edged panels of figures in various landscapes, the saucers with similar scenes framed within Böttger lustre frames enriched in purple and iron-red scrolls, reserved on a rich yellow ground, with gilt bands and scroll borders at the rims, comprising a teapot and cover; rectangular tea caddy, an oval sugar box and cover with hound finial, and four double-handled beakers, covers and stands, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, gilded numeral 13.; various incised dreher's marks including three dots to sugar box, a star to three saucers and a / to the other saucer

Provenance

The Property of a South American Private Collector, sold Sotheby Parke Bernet, 26th September 1989, lot 61 ($26,000).

Condition

The Spout rim of teapot is chipped and the tea caddy lacking a cover. One beaker cover has a chip to rim, another with minute-chip and one beaker with rim chip possibly from associated firing fault. The other pieces are in good condition.
