- 80cm. high, 154cm. wide, 84cm. deep; 2ft. 7½in., 5ft. ¾in., 2ft. 9in.
in the manner of André-Charles Boulle, with a serpentine gilt-bronze-banded leather inset top above three frieze drawers, the central drawer with a mask on cabriole legs with gilt-bronze female term knee mounts, the whole inlaid with scrolling foliage on a tortoiseshell ground terminating in gilt-bronze scrolled feet
Condition
This imposing bureau displays a red tooled leather writing surface with marks and scratches consistent with age and use and an area of loss in need of attention. The original gilt-bronzes may benefit from a light clean. There are small losses to the tortoiseshell veneers to three legs, and losses to brass to drawer front. Minor lifting to brass.
