Condition

Overall, the condition of the bronze is good, with minor dirt and some wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few small stable casting fissures, including to the top of the head and the forehead at the centre, and to the proper right thigh at the back. There are few small lacunae, including to the back of the proper right calf, to the pot at Bacchus's feet to the reverse, and to the back between the shoulder blades and to the proper right side. There are various small nicks and scratches, notably to the terrasse and the feet. The condition of the ebonised wood socle is good, with some dirt and wear. There are a few minor losses to the paint of the socle. There are a few small chips to the edges.
