Catalogue Note

FIRST EDITIONS IN BOOK FORM, the stories having been initially published in The Strand Magazine. The first Holmes and Watson story appeared in towards the end of the magazine in July 1891, but quickly became one of the most popular features with circulation quickly doubling.
