Designed as basket of flowers, set with foliate clusters of variously cut stones including opals, emeralds, rubies, sapphires and diamonds, c.1950, one emerald deficient

Condition
One emerald deficient. Rubies of light to mid- purplish red, transparent. Opals of white to grey body colour, translucent, with characteristic play of colour. Sapphires light to mid-blue, transparent. Emeralds pale to mid-green, translucent. Chrysoprase pale green, transparent. All stones with typical inclusions visible under magnification, some surface-reaching. Some small areas of wear to facet edges, and some small areas of minor chipping to edges of emeralds. Diamonds bright and lively. Scratches to metal surface consistent with wear. One small area of solder to reverse of basket weave section. Brooch fitting secure. Gross weight approximately 27 grams.
