Catalogue Note

Given the reference to the printing of his works, this letter is probably addressed to John Murray, who counted George Hammond (1763-1853) amongst his acquaintances. Byron was working through the proofs of The Bride of Abydos in November 1813, which suggests he must be querying the line count of that poem, but the published text of The Bride is more than 1200 lines long.
