John Galsworthy, letter signed, to William Heinemann, 12 July 1918, about 'Reveille' (the quarterly dedicated to disabled servicemen then edited by Galsworthy); Thornton Wilder, letter to [Kurt] Maschler, 5 November 1958, about a birthday tribute to Erich Kästner; Israel Zangwill, letter to his agent, William Colles, 10 April [1893], regarding the publication of a number of his works, including The King of the Schnorrers; Anthony Blunt, noting his thoughts on a book by Walter Friedlander; Roger Casement, letter with autograph envelope, c. 16 February 1916, concerning the safe arrival of a letter, written from Germany; together with a fragment by Thomas Carlyle ("It never smokes but there is fire"), 12 July 1869, a typed letter by Herbert Samuel, 4 November 1927, and a facsimile note of thanks from Winston Churchill; 7 items in all, some creasing and browning, hinge of letter from Zangwill splitting
