Catalogue Note
These three volumes from the "Cassell's National Library" are thought to include drawings in the hand of a teenage Mabel Lucie Attwell. Antony and Cleopatra includes a coloured drawing ("Mabel Attwell Her Book" signed "MA") and six minor ink drawings within the text. The other two volumes include the initials "MA" together with a stylised drawing of a flower. There are a number of Attwell characteristics exhibited in the drawings, although it is extremely uncommon to find the name "Lucie" omitted by the artist.
