Catalogue Note

THE LARGE PAPER ISSUE OF ARGUABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT NOVEL IN ENGLISH OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY.

The issue of 150 copies on vergé d'Arches paper is of a slightly bigger size (262 x 201mm.)  than the issues of 750 copies on handmade paper (237 x 185mm.) and 100 signed copies on Dutch handmade paper (237 x 195mm.) According to Laura Barnes' census, copy no.130 was reserved for "James Whitall" on 28 March 1922 (see appendix to Glenn Horowitz catalogue James Joyce Books & Manuscripts, New York, 1996).
