Catalogue Note

Based on Mary and Percy Shelley's daily account of their elopement, which they began together but became principally hers. The earliest portion of the diary was revised at Marlow for anonymous publication alongside four 1816 letters and Shelley's "Mont Blanc" in 1817, although Mary continued to keep the journal until 1844.
