The canvas has been lined, the paint surface is relatively clean, with only some superficial dirt, and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals virtually no intervention, save for a small horizontal retouched scratch, halfway down the sitter's chest, measuring approx. 2 cm., and some minor strengthening in the shadows around the lace collar. In overall very good condition.
