Condition

Overall measurements; 327cm across the top; 325cm across the bottom, 453cm along the left hand side; 455cm along the right hand side. Pile 1cm pile overall. Some surface stains, especially top right quadrant. There are various splits around the edges, especially in the two lower corners and also to the edges on the left and right side. Some clear splits as hessian tape is no longer attached, and therefore these splits are not secure. There are further horizontal splits in the centre of the main field, left side (approx. 23cm long), together with an area exposed to foundation and with a large hole (approx. 9 by 4cm). Further horizontal splits in other areas of the main field. In need of attention and would benefit from a clean. Viewing is recommended. With bold design and colouration with the very strident black motifs against a subdued mustard ground, from an established Spanish workshop, famed for it Savonnerie style carpets.
